For years, Charlotte Brown watched her hometown of Moss Point, Mississippi, become known through headlines that often focused on crime, hardship, and negativity.
But that was not the Moss Point she knew.
She knew a community rich in history, culture, resilience, dedicated educators, business owners, churches, volunteers, and everyday residents who quietly worked to make their community better.
Instead of simply criticizing the negative narrative, Charlotte decided to help change it.
She began intentionally sharing positive stories through social media, newspapers, and community outreach. When residents accomplished something, volunteered, opened businesses, earned awards, or served others, she worked to make sure their stories were seen.
From that vision, We Are Moss Point was born.
